Disclosure
In the interest of full disclosure, I want to be very specific about a few things:
1.) When I discuss products, I am talking about my own experience. Since this blog deals with products for the body and no two bodies are alike, let me tell you a little about mine: I have dry to oily combination skin; long wavy hair that is not color-treated; weak, brittle nails. I’m going to be honest about what I think, but always keep in mind that our experiences may differ.
2.) Many companies have realized that giving away products to bloggers is an effective way to reach consumers. I believe in being honest about a product experience, but even so, if ever someone gives me something for free or at a discount and I write about it, I am going to include this information in a post so that you know and can make an informed decision about the product in question. Full disclosure about these things is a very important element of trust and I would never write about a product that was somehow compensating me (even if it’s just a freebie) without saying so, as this can change people’s opinions about a blogger’s ability to remain unbiased.
3.) I was put on Accutane as a teen to deal with my acne. It worked moderately well for me, but it’s possible that it also contributed to depression. Studies continue to suggest there is a link between the two and knowing that now, I would never enter treatment with it again, no matter how troublesome my skin. Unfortunately, I am not a specialist and as we all know, some things that we may consider wonderful can turn out to be not so wonderful. I will do my best to keep abreast of issues surrounding the products I put on this blog. If you experience negative effects with any products herein, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment. This blog is all about spoiling ourselves–and by spoiling, I don’t mean ruining.
